The Spoiled One!
Rocky is deaf. We didn't know this when we brought Rocky home. I'm glad I didn't know because I had never met a deaf dog and would have assumed he would be hard to train.
We had Rocky for one day when we realized he was deaf. By then he had won our hearts and returning him never crossed my mind, learning about deaf dogs did.
Thanks to the internet I was quickly able to locate a wonderful group of deaf dog owners. They are a large group of people from all over the world who taught me that I had nothing to fear from living with a deaf dog, all I needed was love. With their encouragement and tips I quickly taught Rocky a few basic hand signals. He was a quick learner and caught on fast. Take a look at his pictures and you can see what a charmer he is!
